Glen Innes Neighbourhood Unit is now closed. And the last time I rang the 0800 801 601 number took 20 minutes to answer. Somebody else complained about the time it took him to make contact. And after a lengthy wait and a phone interview, you still have to see somebody in person. And an appointment is made and a further wait is now queuing up to a three week wait. And that is not supporting evidence of any improvement at all, but rather delaying service and costing more.
We now have Central Office staff clashing with local office decisions. A woman who is running away from a family violence circumstance was allocated a house by the local office, and the decision is not only overturned by the central office but the victim of family violence's application is now relgated from serious to not serious. Central Office did not consider her safety and the safety of her two young children as serious.
