The phenomenal thing to do...
There is overwhelming awareness of global events that have drawn realisation to identify with various followings. The '1 of the 99%' particularly has become a global phenomenon against Wall Street. In the US, people who identify their struggles with the working class have raised a 'conscience collective' of their social and economic standing in the bigger scheme of things. I have concluded it a 'collective conscience phenomenon' because the people are engaged in participation of reasoned and non violence collective action in compliance with democratic principles. They are consciously aware but are not reacting in an emotional or extreme violent manner causing harm to themselves and others or damage to property, and are not drawing unwanted controversies to their cause.
Despite the mainstream media's attempt to dump down protester's success, the people are keeping the momentum of their movement alive by electronic media communication and of course by natural identification to a common cause.
The mainstream media is purposely filtering out anti government sentiments by banning the usual critics from access to popular public outlets. The media is clearly serving a 'fascist' role, the term they often labeled non Western nations as to the control of their citizen's free speech. But Western governments are making an effort in attempt to redirect attention away from the hot issue of global economy and accumulation of wealth in the hands of the 1% to such issues as Climate Change or Terrorism, and over population and Family Planning, etc. The media's coordinated effort had resorted to re-runs of the War on Terrorism. Class wars like the Arab revolution have begun with media propaganda' as citizens tune into a 'super human channel' of consciousness.
I have signposted an aspect of 'Economic Reformation of the Heart' where I suggested it 'is not possible to have a valid Political Will that binds social relations objective, that .... Any laws resulting from political will are usually arbitrary'. That is because Political Will is usually referred to the will of the ruling government alone prompted by the media's ability to influence public opinion. Whatever the goal is targeted for achievement, but the use of power and expedience has taken over Freedom of individuals to make own informed decisions. If the media is fascist and leading a-one-party government arbitration, then we are seriously considering a fascist dictatorship.
For the last century or so, economic and financial decisions depended on the government of the day and its direction of economic development. These governments represent only one sector of the population; the right wing favours the rich conservatives, the left wing favours labour and radicals. Developments are never evenly stabilized as growth reflects periods of booms and busts. Until recently, governments of the right and left have seemed to serve the same goal for an elite minority. Both right and left wings of the political spectrum now serve the same master, but that doesn't transfer any benefits to the right and left sector of the population. Instead the top elites from both wings incorporated to centralise global wealth in the hands of the few, as the poor sectors are secluded from their establishment. The disestablishment of the working class among institutions of society has strengthen their cause for extreme individualism; the one percent that now owns over 40% of global wealth.
The danger of arbitration is its powerful tool to bulldoze a pathway for private individuals in the middle of society's establishment. In local events, the state housing reform of Housing New Zealand Corporation (HNZC) is promoted by the business sector to develop a prime real estate establishment currently housing low income families. The right wing National government is a business party and apart from direct funding of itself, laws are put in place to ensure the private business sector's interests are met. In the name of progress also known as upgrading the values of property to increase their wealth, is the same as excavation of local families, their homes and cultures from the land in order to make way for the rich.
Because the government has the number to pass the vote, it can make arbitrary laws as it sees fit. But arbitrary laws are not validly concluded. It is undemocratic representation of the private sector by a one-party government at best because Democracy is not a number presentation. Meantime, long-term citizens who were born and have established families and memories in the land are now asked to move out.
HNZC staff is fronting this arbitrary movement by execution of the law. A single mother who lived in the same address for the last thirty years has always kept a dog for her children, and the dog has since become part of the family. All of a sudden HNZC staff issued her a warning to get rid of the dog or find another place. Generally no dogs are allowed in HNZC properties unless it has been agreed to by both parties in consideration of the individual tenant's need. In most cases this agreement is written into the Tenancy Agreement. The single mother claimed that HNZC agreed to keep her dog, but was never written into the Agreement. Also, for thirty years of tenancy she and her children had kept the dog as part of their family with the full knowledge of HNZC.
The law according to me in this case is arbitrary and subjective in nature. It has been broken by the landlord's failure to make good of its binding when the dog was noticed in the first place. By lack of action, it is assumed that the landlord had approved the dog to be kept in the tenancy.
The dog had served an emotional purpose towards the social welfare and wellbeing of the mother and her children, and it has emotionally bound their relationship. HNZC had known that the family will move out to keep their dog. While the dog is serving a human purpose for the family, the law fails to fulfill an objective purpose in maintaining social relations between the HNZC and the family.
HNZC is a social state housing and everyone has a right to a place irrespective of their social and economic standing. To coerce a low income family away from their home to make way for a rich individual to own is discrimination on the basis of economic status. She is disadvantaged because she is poor. Because of discrimination, she will not only lose her home and personal memories associated with its development over her lifetime, but also the fact that HNZC has ruled against her in favour of the more wealthy tenant. She has a personal loss and has been discriminated against on the basis of social and economic status - or being poor.
Her experience, her memory, and her home, place a human face on social housing managed by HNZC which is a state agency and public asset, but HNZC has instead decided to have materially rich faces on public property. The dog on the other provided an objective purpose in stabilising the family's emotional welfare and wellbeing.
The market determination of social housing is regulated on income basis. There are valid reasons why many people have depended on social housing, but are not discussed in here yet. The market rent is based on various factors including the state of the economy and its fluctuations, as well as material and land value, environmental surrounding and social contingent of economic status.
Rent is expected to increase as property must sustain their value if not increased over time. That means there is no place for the poor in here: but on hindsight, the market crash was due to bad loans because the job market failed to sustain demands, where demands were merely raised from dependent consumers because the economy failed to generate growth. Interest rates were high and skyrocketed by inflation. Well, there's a real story about financial managements in high places that not even $trillion handouts and $multibillion bailouts have given any life form to the economy; we are still spiralling on a downturn. What then makes you think that by developing a lower socio economic sector in the height of unemployment and inflation into a luxurious prime estate will create growth? Only when buyers are foreigners or when investors are developers in private corporate housing properties. And there will lead you back to multinationals and global elite...
There is a known deficit in the international exchange rate that seems to maximise profit for multinational corporations but at a disadvantage to local consumers.
When arbitration fails to represent a human face, communities are uprooted from their establishment to give way to the rich. A shared common struggle is felt and realised as citizens raise a concern about their welfare and wellbeing. Universal issues of human dignity rapidly gather the collective conscience to reason a response to bulldozer behaviour of arbitration. Those who can measure rational outcomes would agree to do what is right. And the right thing to do outweighs arbitrary laws that are invalid in the first place.
So far, the very first thing the global financial elite had done was to destroy the basic essence of the market, and that is the family and the community. It is proven beyond doubt that individualism and their accumulation at the minority end is unproductive and destructive not only to the economy itself, but also to the community, the bases of the market. Globalisation is thus self-destructive...
